And I even told her...I want to have it in school!

After the 3 Days Long Weekend...I refused to go to school today!

Was it because of the 3days long weekend which we had spent so much time together, having so much fun that resulted in my SURPRISED refusal to go to school???!!!

Or was it because Little Ayden went together??
Is Mummy bringing didi out for fun??
Mummy told me didi is going to Bibinogs Playschool...my previous school...but are they going out to play instead????

"I want to go home!!!
Mummy, please, please...I don't want!!!"

It came as a surprise to Mummy as I was perfectly fine even when I was in the car...I even said..

"reaching school!"

but... ...when the moment came to get out of the car, I was hesitant...still, I walked in...but refused to go to the classroom. Then it lead to more dramatic cries and fuss from me..and pleas to my mummy that I don't want to go school!!!

Still, Mummy carried me and left me with Ms. Rowan...
Mummy said it is important to "harden" her heart and leave me there despite my pleas and cries...else I will think that I can have my way as long as I throw tantrums like that..and it will be more difficult for me to get out of this "mood swing" and come to understand that I have to attend school still and eventhough Ayden followed us out at the same time since Mummy is going to send him to Bibinogs after dropping me off at school, nothing is going to change and she will still come and fetch me later when I finish school.

Even more to Mummy's surprise was....
I was perfectly fine the minute I was in my classroom...
I even kissed and waved Mummy goodbye.
!!!

Anyway, this continued for another day...which was even more dramatic!
I locked myself in the car..held on to pillars and car door...cried, scream my pleas to my Mummy, that i want to go home.

"Mummy, I want to go home and Poo poo..."

Again, I had to be carried into the classroom.
Luckily, my mood swing was over by the third day... phew!

the older I am, the more I think I seemed to find everywhere in this world is filled with hypocrisy!
"Ya..Lindy Jin can't handle Hypocrisy" - someone said that to me today..

Hmm...

is it can't handle or choose not to handle?
is it a matter of choice?

Beginning to think that hanging around with little children is where no social mask is required!
why it seemed to me that most people these days like to complicate matters?
why can't they just do it simple and straightforward while taking others into consideration?
Is hypocrisy the result of self-centered manner?

especially after quite some time of moody roller coaster mood swings..
with special relevance to MR ALVIN SEAH.

we had a good talk last week and you finally acknowledged and decided to put in efforts to address the issues. Thank you. Now I know I am not alone afterall...

you know, it takes more than just a good man to sustain the love and marriage...

Mummy always try to plan activities for us...
other than usual routine ones, she also wants to keep exposing us to new and interesting ones...
sometimes she is really at a loss about what to do too...Because no daddy by her side, she says it simply just doesn't motivate much...but well, for us, she still tries her best!

On usual weekdays, I have a set of activities to go through...including pretend play, toys play, storybooks reading, coloring & tracing, activity books covering English, Chinese, Math and Science plus general knowledge...bicycle riding, music and dance time etc

Mummy rotates our weekend activities and outings...
On average, there is 4 Saturdays & 4 Sundays...
Soon I will be starting my swimming class every Saturday AM...so we still have 4 Sundays...
Once a month we stay over at Gong Gong & Po Po house for the weekend...so still have 3 Sundays...

-activities at home: playdough or painting, craftwork followed by bubbles or waterplay time
-swimming
-indoor playgrounds
-outdoor playgrounds
-parks & picnic &/or field trips
-library
-places of interests etc
-how about catching a play?

-R & R at home, catch a movie etc..(for Friday nights in)

It is really nice that we have a events and activities planner like Mummy at home...but we know sometimes she gets rather moody that Daddy is always not around with us...but he has to work...hopefully soon it will be better!

I have always been a very active boy...
physically ...I should be rather fit as I hardly fall sick..even when I do, Mummy rarely gives me any medicine..
After just a night on the bicycle (4 wheels), I can pedal so well without help on my new bicycle!!

Language wise, I suppose I was never the fast learner as I was always more "cool and nonchalant...but now i talk alot...and always like to disturb our neighbour...Uncle Eric.

I am also becoming more and more like a "commander boy"

"No! Mummy, you talk to Asher..."
"Mummy, you naughty!! Asher do it!!"
"Mummy, I show you!!"

I pretend to get angry when the adults do something before I could do it...
-like opening the mailbox, opening the gate,
-showing Mummy the words on the book as if I am the teacher and mummy is the student...
I will fold my arms across my chair and say "Mummy you naughty! HMM!! Asher do it!!"

I like to seek mummy's "approval" and praise...
"Mummy, can play/eat/go? Can or no?"
"Mummy, you angry?"
"Mummy, you not happy? you happy?"
"Mummy, just tired?"
"Mummy, look Asher share with Didi!!"
"Mummy, didi share with me!!"

And I always ask for 5 minutes of grace time...
5 mins to play
5 mins to eat
5 mins to sleep
5 mins!!!

Many commented I have quite a slang in my English, the way I talk...my pitch and tone is quite different...so sometimes they cannot quite get what I am saying...even Daddy.

In many areas, Mummy is happy with my progress...
but thinks she needs to work more on my fine motor skills more...
especially my pencil griping and writing...

recently, Mummy was surprised that when she asked me a few descriptive questions about some different forms of vehicles and I could name the respective vehicles!!!
Like... ...
- I am big and strong and I push earth & rocks aside. ANSWER: BULL DOZER
- I speed through the traffic with my siren with my lights flashing. I help people to get to a place where they get well again. ANSWER: AMBULANCE
- I make a loud noise with my siren and carry hoses that spray water. ANSWER: FIRE ENGINE
and more...

Most importantly, Mummy is very pleased with the way I treat Ayden, my little brother most of the times...I held back my fist which I had wanted to punch him when he snatched my toys, I held back my bite unlike last time which I would not have been able to control my emotion and bitten my brother which I regretted so much later...9 out of 10 times I would share my toys with Ayden and I am also happy to play together with him.. I have learnt and handle well that Ayden and I must learn to co-exist and compromise each other even sharing our parents' love and attention...I am also progressing well in terms of learning that I am an older boy with more responsibilities than my little brother, that I have to take care of him..

15th March 2011...we went Sentosa!
I enjoyed myself thoroughly...
I had a go at Luge, Skyride, Segway and even watched a "cinematrix" movie...where the seats rock and shake through the show as if we are on a real-life roller coaster ride!
I think my best love is the Segway!
The big brothers and sisters there simply adore me...for my cool yet cute style!

Well...it is not too far off from our place and it is big mall with essentials for mummy to shop ad a fantastic playground for us! The only complaint Mummy has is the carpark and lift...hmm not very user friendly..

I am such a fortunate boy!
I cut four birthday cakes this year!!

First was bought by Auntie Tricia & family ... thank you!
They celebrated for me when we had them and friends come over for Chinese New Year gathering...They bought me an Awfully Chocolate cake topped with Thomas the Trains!

Second was bought by Auntie Joey, Auntie Amber & Auntie Irene....thank you!
They celebrated for me when they came over for an impromptu Chinese New Year gathering too... They bought me a Tom & Jerry's Cake! Thank you!

Third & Fourth was from Daddy & Mummy...for celebration on my actual birthday, 15th Feb!
One for me to celebrate with my classmates in school ... a pretty Thomas & Friends cake!

I need to be nice to my little brother even if he is not nice to me...because he is still a baby and doesn't know what he is doing sometimes when he beat me...
I need to do my nightly revision

Singapore's Declining birth rate

In my opinion, the main problem to our falling birth rate is a big picture with many interlocking factors... Costs - Pregnancy - Baby/Childcare (Nuturing & upbringing & logistics) - Education & Schools - Living Standards - Job/career - personal lifestyle - Living standards etc

I am 29 turning 30. Mother of two boys aged 3 and 1. Stay on our own with a helper and drives a 5 yr old jap car. Most ppl think I am a young mum in today's era, but I don't really think so. I wished I had girl and will prbly try for number 3 again. Most people will say, "Wow! Salute you man..."I wished I had started earlier since I got married when I was 23 turning 24 and got together in a courtship with my hubby when I was 17 turning 18..

Mothers are still very much the main caregiver for the children as most man just can't lift a finger to initiate any significant help or at least my man. I often said being a mother is one of the toughest job on earth...though it is also one of the most fulfilling one. You are on standby every 24/7.

For people who doesn't fancy having children, they will never be able to understand the joy behind parenthood. Of course, the joy behind is often masked by the difficulties, hardship and compromises ahead. Having children is not just about getting pregnant, giving birth and that's it. In fact that really is just a mere part of it. It is about nuturing the child and enjoying the process of it. But in order to be able to enjoy the process of it...money must still be coming in to cover the household expenses and yet preferably still have some savings no matterhow little for tommorrow...

I am very lucky for now that I am able to take some time off work and not having to work full day full hours. Hence I am able to care for my kids. Thanks to my very hardworking husband. Yet I still find time is never enough...having to juggle the household from monthly bills to groceries to planning, share some of husband's workload, own work, the children and everything else. I am lucky I have a rather good maid/helper...if not I would have gone crazy. So as tough as it is, I also remind myself I am lucky still.

As much as I appreciate the childcare subsidies, the babybonus, the tax incentives given, it will never be enough. Why?
(1) childcare subsidywhen childcare subsides increases, the fees charged by the centres also increase.Also I have always wondered, why are childcare subsdies only for MCYS Childcare centres and not for MOE registered kindergartens.
(2) cash gift upfront + CDA dollar to dollar top up Cash gift upfront helps to cover some of the cost of the initial baby raising costs ie Jabs etc...CDA account = only possible to achieve if you can save in excess...And anyway, money is never enough ... so there will never be an end to this part of the solution..

I have my moments of frustrations too..and I ask myself WHY WHY WHY?
Why have children...Eversince I had children, I have had to literally ...
(1) stop going for movies
(2) stop going for my fav KTV sessions
(3) stop going for holidays
(4) compromise on career moves etc
and the list can go on and on...

However, those are just my moments of frustrations...At the end f the day, the children'innocent laughter, silly talk and so on more than makes my day happier...any compromise is really worthwhile. "I want MUMMY happy...."

Bottomline, having children equates a lot of personal life and lifestyle compromise. And I believe this is clearly the largest influencing factor whether to have children or not.In our modern society where materialism and wealth creation (to afford the materialistic & luxury lifestyle) is more often the emphasis of young people today.

If I don't have my 2 boys today, I probably would have toured alot more other countries and can long changed my 5 years old jap car to a nice flashy continenal car. I could take up any courses that i like and yet still have time for my fav KTV sessions without having to feel guilty having to leave my children in the care of my helper. If I am unhappy, I can no longer jut pack my bags and go off, for i I did that, what happens to my children?
Other than affordability, It is crucial whether young people these days finds it justifiable to make the compromises to their lifestyle. Just like spending $1K for children's preschool classes VS spending that 1K on branded goods or a holiday or even the latest iPAD. That's also another compromise.

In my opinion, most young people these days are too pampered and self centred to be able to make such compromises. But that's not entirely their fault too. It is how our society has grown to become over thepast years.I hve seen children driving cars to schools but parents take public transport to work. To me this is ridiculous. I see alot of young people even young teens eating out at nice fancy restaurants...i rem KFC/PIZZA HUT was a luxury to me in my earlier school days...even now still.

Everwhere u can see young people/teens donning branded goods top to toe..Not that I don't but at least I spend from what I earn and not what my parents earn. And I know I cant spnd on everything. If I want to spend on something, then I hve to save on others..but i do ot see this on today's young people. To them, Everything must be good and expensive today becos that equals quality and perhps even pride for peer pressure and societal pressure. So why would they give up so much justto have children?

Getting into primary schools is another issue. Staying within 1KM, 2KM i understand the basis of it. Why should parents of the alumni school be given priority?? Isnt it not meritocratic at all? This is just going to lead to an even worst income/class gap o our people in singapore. Children of parents who oes to top schools, goes to top schools easily...thats y many a times professionals breed within the family too..

Then to the KIASU-ISM spirit being cultivated in singapore...I fear for the future of my truely singaporean children. Wll they be able to compete in their school and work in future if I do not prepare them well enough now? What is considered preparing them well enough? Hw can they afford a home to call their own in future? They have no overseas malaysia, australia, china homes etc to go back to...

I have nothng against PRs. My MUM is a malaysian PR and now getting citizenship in SG.But why should PRs enjoy many similar or even near similar benefits of CITIZEN Singaporeans?At the end of the day, they can enjoy eveything here but go back to their own country when living standards here becomes too high for them...but where can SG citizens go unless we leave our famil and roots here and migrate. Yes, maybe when they truly want to be a part of the fantastic place to be in (tiny singapore) in their opinion and takeup citizenship in SG, then they shoulenjoy similar benefits be it housing, medical, CPF, subsidies, tax rebates etc.

It is sad to see the reality that Singaporeans do not want to have children...but when you lookback, why is this the result today? Having children should not even have been the responsibility by forms of incentives and monetary means and directions by the govt...but some policies and directions to grow our country by the govt in other overlapping areas is clearly a key to te resulting culture and mentality of fellow singaporeans.

So any solutions? I think it is a tough nut to crack by now with the way our society had evolved...How to get people to trade off a big part of their lifestyle luxury and time to have children and build a truely singaporean family?

Bye Bye Bibinogs...I will miss Teacher Ruth, Teacher Yani, Teacher Ena, Tong Lao Shi...and everyone there including my little friends...

Starting from this fresh new year 2011, I will be attending Kinderland full day childcare 9am to 5pm. Mummy and I are certainly looking forward to this new change...

I had about 2 weeks of time staying at home
before starting daily school at Kinderland

Anyway, 3rd January 2011, I commenced school at Kinderland!

1st week

First day: 3rd Jan 2011 Monday - I was ok.

Second day: I cried

Third day: I didn't want to go in when we reached...after that Mummy gave me a packet of lettuce and reminded me I wanted to feed the rabbits...and thereafter I was ok

Fourth day: I was ok

Fifth day: I was ok

Mummy's feelings after week one:

She is worried if it is a wrong move to send me here as she felt it might not be as engaging and interactive as compared to Bibinogs where she felt I had good and enriching time...she is worried that I will find it bored in here and not doing as much as compared to my time spent at Bibinogs...

Mummy also began to wonder if she should just put me in the 3 hours preschool program instead. Since afternoon I nap a long 3 hours at home anyway... ...

The current plan is to send me to FD CC for 1 year and then send me to 3 hours preschool program + 2 hours chinese preschool extension next year onwards... so I will attend school in 2012 from 8am to 11am + 1115am to 115pm. (that is if I stay on in Kinderland YCK)

2nd week

Monday: TODAY! 10th Jan 2011.

We arrived at 9AM...unlike last week when I got there only 930AM mostly...

Mummy peeped and observed for the first half hour...I was great! After a while of settling down, I was having fun identifying body parts and dancing around.

We started with the song "Heads, shoulders, knees and toes ...knees and toes..."

Then identifying our body parts with cards and actions...

After that we danced around while Teacher Rowan played a few Hi-5 songs which were related to our topic today...

Seeing that I was having a great time with some smiles on my face every now and then...Mummy was finally satisfied to leave.

I learn to take care of my little brother Ayden and also appreciate his presence that i have a sibling to play with. I learn to share my toys and help around in the house...in fact most of the time, I am happy to help...like bringing my bowls and bottles etc to the kitchen sink, helping to keep my toys bit by bit and helping to throw away Ayden's soiled diapers etc..

I am getting more and more inquisitive about stuffs and happenings around me and asks lots of questions...

"Mummy are you not happy? Mummy are you sad?"

4D3N away from home...for Kelong Trip

Just not too long ago, I went to stay over at Gong Gong Po Po house for 3D2N...
Now I went to the Kelong with them for 4D3N...
Oh...i just went in September...
When I am around, Mummy says no time to do her things.
Hehe...when I am not around...She say, still didnt manage to do much..because still have Ayden.
Hahahhahaha! Full of excuse...my mummy.

Anyway, about going to the Kelong...Unlike before...when Grandma just indicate say when they want to bring me to Kelong, this time Po Po ASKED if Mummy wants to join in if free, even GONG GONG also called and ASKED Mummy along (MUMMY IS HAPPY.)...and if not, they want to bring me...Mummy is ok with them bringing me ... just always felt kind of left out within their family...even back when we were staying togther...breakfast outing etc...

When we first shifted over here to stay, sometimes Po Po will just call on Saturday morning and say they want to bring me out and they are on the way...and ask Mummy to wake me up...and inform that I will stay over at their place for the weekend...and within like 15 mins, they appear at our door le...

Mummy welcomes them to come over and visit me...even taking me out to play or stay over is absolutely fine. However, they way Grandma does is rather imposing and Mummy is often caught by surprise at the very last minute. Rejecting them, Mummy feels bad. Not rejecting them spoils the plans Mummy made for me. All Mummy wants is just advance notice so she can make arrangements for my outing plans and also let me sleep earlier the night before...and ask rather than impose.

Even plans for my swimming classes...Mummy is trying so hard to get a SAT morning class for me, so that when Gong Gong and Po Po wants me to stay over, it will not clash and be made impossible unlike if it is a Sunday morning or Saturday afternoon class.
So far to no avail..but not giving up!

Went over to stay at grandparents house for 3days 2 nights...
Mummy has been a little apprehensive about it as she cannot bear to part with me...and she is also worried I will return as a naughtier boy as grandparents tend to "overly-dote" and pamper the grandchildren...and worried that my grandpa and grandma will give in to me too much...
However, she understands that Gong Gong & Po Po dotes on me and misses me alot especially since we havent been seeing each other since we stayed separately... ...furthermore now it is just Gong gong and Po Po staying on their own...so it must be quiet / lonely for them.. so she should let me go...but bringing just me and not together with Ayden along, also makes mummy feel Ayden is being left out...
but perhaps Ayden is still young and alot more work to be taken care of...maybe Gong Gong and Po Po will bring Ayden along when he is older...

Mummy said during the 3D2N that I was away, Ayden was kind of cranky and tough to handle...super stick to Mummy...doesn't even want Daddy....Auntie Angie says it could be because Didi is not used to Kor Kor (me) not around...afterall it is the first time..I am away from him for a few days...

Anyway, somehow I seem to understood "death" emotionally...as I get very upset when Mummy pretends to die....so upset that tears roll down my cheeks and I will say.."I don't want Mummy die...I don't want Mummy die...Mummy get up.." while attempting to pull Mummy up...
Mummy feels so touched yet bad that she made me teared...

I think I am a big boy too and wants to do everything on my own.
EXCEPT things that I think I do not like. HAhahahHa

100% Diaper Free !!

I am 100% diaper free!
No more diapers even in the night! Finally!
And now I do not even want diapers anymore..I tell mummy diaper is for Ayden didi...I am already a big boy...

Usually in the middle of the night I will fuss and make noise...which means I need to go pee...but I probably not too aware of consciously since I am actually in the midst of my sleep..
so Daddy or Mummy has to diligently wake up to bring me to the toilet to pee...
then go back to sleep...
However, once in a while I wet the bed..
sometimes because I am so tired..i do not even know that...and only cry "wet wet" which is too late by then...
sometimes, it is because Mummy or Daddy didnt notice ... hmm "tired/lazy" to notice my fussing...and never get up to bring me to pee...

And Mummy thinks the way I run to the toilet to pee is soOoooOo cute!
Because, I always do it like I am so urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Full Day Childcare or 3 Hours Kindergarten?
Mummy has been asking myself this question for a long time, over and over again...

Full Day Childcare seemed like a long day out there without family for you..when you are still so young, even when I will only be dropping you there at 9 and most likely fetching you back at 5.
It becomes just like a job for you...5 day Monday to Friday work week and 9am to 5pm.

Would you be happy?

Besides, it will be more taxing for you if I like to send you for music, gym, swimming or other classes... HOW?

Yet, 3 hours kindergarten is too short a period of time for you to be away from home ... as 3 hours is not enough for me to do my work... ideally I think 5 hours will be good..
like 8am to 1pm kind of...so you can still take your lunch and nap at home...then still have time to play and go for some interesting activities or classes in the late afternoon...then you can have weekends FREE!

So?

I prefer to register you for 3 hours Kindergarten program at Kinderland YCK where you will be attending childcare next year...and do a 2 hours Chinese Kindergarten program extension...so you will attend preschool from 8AM to 1PM...which is ideal....however, no chinese kindy at Pre-Nursery when you are 3 years old...

Therefore...

the immediate solution is to let you attend full day childcare and transfer you over to 3hours kindergarten (8am - 1100am)+Chinese Kindy (1115am - 115pm) when you turn 4 next year...
Hopefully this will be a good arrangement.

At least I can fetch you back during lunch time and you can take your lunch at home, shower and perhaps 3 to 5 can be your nap time. This way, I do not have to worry about having to schedule my work appointments around the timing near 5pm...or have to run up and down from town to school to fetch you home and then back to town again...

Ideally when Ayden goes to Kinderland next year, he should go for half day childcare...so I can fetch both of you back at 115pm. But if you have a little sibling to come along next year...then Ayden may have to attend full day childcare... ...which is fine too...else it will be too much for Auntie Beth to handle at home...

We shall see how things go and if you enjoy your new school next year...

unexpected HFMD!

I am down with HFMD...most likely.
Mummy did not bring me to see doctor... ...that's why we say most likely.

For the past week, in fact probably since Monday 11th Oct 2010 thereabout, I began to be fussy over food again...and I have not behaved like that for quite a while...
Mummy thought I was just being difficult and did not think much of it.

Once I complained ..."Mouth painful" ... Mummy thought I probably knocked into some toy..and just hush hush me over it...as I did not really create a fuss out of it...
I kept sticking my little finger into my mouth and I was salivating quite a bit...
but I was still my active self, running about, climbing here and there...
and everytime I went to school, the teachers checked my hands and feet and mouth too...nothing unusual...

According to what Mummy has read, HFMD begins with a fever...
hmm...I did not have a fever so far...Mummy had not noticed any...
it was only until Friday...that is when I said "mouth painful" again... then Mummy checked my mouth again thoroughly and saw quite a few ulcers...three on the inner part of my lower lip and a patch on the right tip of my tongue...
that's when Mummy think it should be HFMD!

Originally she thought of bringing me to the doctor the next morning...but then...
there is no specific medicine for HFMD anyway...they will just tell you to give plenty of water, be extra careful with the cleanliness especially the hands, avoid crowded areas etc...
And since I was behaving just like normal, no fever...so Mummy did not bring me to the doctor afterall...but I do have more red little dots on my palms and soles... ...

During these few days when I rejected my meals, Mummy will try to give me small pieces of cornflakes or bread...and at least I ate some...then I drank lots of "Cold Cold Ribena" too...plus Mummy gave me more jelly to eat... I showed some difficulty to drink my milk though I will still finish it after some time...
I also gestured in silence more rather than speak out the words...

Overall, Mummy is glad and a little surprised that I have been such a great boy despite the discomfort of having HFMD.

Time flies and soon I will be three years old.
I want to be a part in everything...and I want to do everything on my own...(except eating) hahahhaha :D this is the most infuriating part for mummy and really test her patience...

Sometimes Mummy finds it very tough to handle both of us at the same time to engage in the same activity...so needs Auntie Beth to help...
Good thing is Auntie Beth is also very into playing with us! :) Mummy is happy with this...

Asher has really grown...

He learns to "take care" and look out for his Little Brother Ayden...
He is capable of striking conversations with us in sentences...although some of the words are not well pronounced...
He is capable of displaying emphathy to people around and I really like it!
He can eat on his own, although sometimes still requires some nagging from me....but it is really much, much better than before..
He remembers his friends by name and can relate to you what he did...
He is almost totally diaper free now, but with occasional accidents over night...
He alters his tone of speech to mimic different people or when he talks to different people...
He can read some simple words and enjoys a wide range of activities...from reading, to play fighting to drawing & messy painting, to sand castle building, water play, to playing with his toy vehicles, play pretend musical toys, cooking...beginning to enjoy dancing to the rhythm of music, unlike when he was younger...so much...i just cannot finish naming all..

I hope Asher & Ayden will be able to enjoy their toddlerhood and childhood as much as possible!

I have been behaving pretty well recently...

Mummy thinks I am like a "big boy" now...

I can follow so much more instructions and I attempt to take care of people around me including my Little Brother Ayden...
I also initiate conversations with Mummy and Daddy and try to talk like them...

i love our playhouse...sometimes i take my nap in it...
sometimes i pretend to cook in it...

Every Wednesday morning, it is gym time for me and Ayden tags along...
We have great fun...
However, Mummy says I will have to stop after this term as I will be attending Kinderland childcare Pre Nursery 9am-5pm so no time to come...I will have to wait till Nursery when I transfer to Kinderland Preschool 8am-130pm...then I can continue to come...

As I have turned 2.5 years old, I have also demonstrated a higher level of understanding...
What pleases Mummy most is I hardly have separation anxiety with Daddy & Mummy...
Whenever they got to go for work, they just tell me to behave and that they willl be back later....
I will say OK... BIG HUG & KISS and bye. :)

I have just started attending weekly play gym sessions at Prime Gym. I like it there! Mummy says its nice to let toddlers play in gyms... we get to exercise, build on our motor skills, we also learn how things work unknowingly too...like rolling the big balls down the "padded ramp"...we do handstands, roman rings...trampoline...walking and balancing on beams...we climb high high up ... etc..

Mummy hopes I can get to play with other little children regularly... Mummy tries to bring me back to Uncle Felix place every alternate Sunday for dinner... Soon in time to come, Mummy hopes she can arrange for every alternate Sat for me to catch up with Gong Gong & Po Po too...

All planning and routine takes time to put in place and efforts too... Mummy says I will understand when I grow older...

8th July 2010 -
I messed up the Ice Cream Cake Mummy bought for Daddy...mummy was so upset

She was shocked when I opened the box on my own and actually messed up the cake within that few mins that she had left the cake box on the floor, while tidying some space in the fridge to make way for the cake box to go in... It was supposed to be a belated birthday cake for Daddy...

Wai Po only came over on 7th July(Daddy's actual BD) late night...so Mummy couldnt go out to get the cake for Daddy as she had to look after 2 of us...plus she wasn't quite in the mood too as Daddy hadn't initiate talk with Mummy since their quarrel couple days back...
Wai Po was SOOOOOOO stunned and in silence when she saw how Mummy scolded me... first time ever....she even chased me out into the outdoor dining area and aske dme to stand there and cry... :( Poor Asher me.... I sobbed and sobbed... (while Mummy's heart BROKE)

20th July 2010 - I refused to eat. I was told to face the wall. I sobbed and sobbed...

i am 2yrs 5months old! & Many changes...

We went maid-less for 2 weeks. Mummy sent the crazy maid back to the agency on 28th June and also tendered her resignation at Tan Chong the immediate next day.

During the time when we were maid-less, Daddy & Mummy had bad fight just 2 days before Daddy's birthday and also after that... Mummy must have been stressed out for that maid less 2 weeks plus daddy's fiery temper and not giving face/respect by throwing tantrum in front of waipo...this is what hurt mummy the most. Why can't Daddy just behave better and show some respect for Mummy's mummy??

It was tough having to look after us and still find time to go out to look for a maid while Wai Po helped to look after us, once or twice, all of us went together... Luckily Mummy had Auntie Joanne Loh who helped us to shortlist suitable maids when she is on her maid search.
Through her, we engaged our new maid Auntie Elizabeth who is now 1 week old with us and been great so far! Far Far much better than Auntie Cora.

Now Mummy finally understood why some people can leave their children in the hands of their helper in peace. So from 28th June to 10th July, Mummy took care of us on her own with Wai Po staying over to help out on some days...and the first 2 weeks when Auntie Elizabeth came.

So far Auntie Elizabeth has been good. Not like the crazy Auntie Cora who always claim anyone, everyone is "gossiping" about her. Not only is she a slow worker, she apparently is just lazy too. Does not shoe sincere respect, always talk back to Mummy and instead of following simple instructions, she try to tell mummy what should be done and what shouldnt be done... Anyway crazy maid time is finally over. Now let's hope Auntie Elizabeth will be this good all the way...

but mummy doubts you will ever read it anyway.

I try to be strong, stronger and stronger... ...
I try to be a good wife, good daughter-in-law, good daughter, good sister, good mummy... ...
but it seems like i have never really succeeded...but failed. failed terribly.

Both pregnancies and many things big small...i almost went through it just like a single mum...
i knew you didn't want it to be that way too.
I try to be understanding to all your tiredness, all your difficulties...
I try to be as independent as I can be...
whatever unjust I had to go through with anyone, i always put you at top priority...having no wish to put you in a difficult position...
No matter how tough the road ahead may seem, being married, I always thought a hubby will always be the pillar of support mentally, emotionally...

There are times I am so lonely, so tired...so mentally and emotionally drained.
BUT i am always alone.
I am just a woman afterall...
There are times I need a shoulder to cry on, a big warm hug... ...
where are they? I am just being left ignored, left alone, left on my own.
There are times I made my messages clear that I am not your superwoman, but just a stronger, independent woman who still needs your love, care and concern and help.... ...but your reply was...the capable one gets more tasks...even the stronger, independent woman has been slowly killed by your silence and nonchalance over the years.

i guess you will never understand why it is a difficult time for me now...
you will never be able to love me how I thought I will be loved by...
My genuine smile and laughter are beginning to leave me...bit by bit...
I am terrified... ....

Terrible Two or Terrific Two?

For sometime, Mummy was happy I wasn't quite the Terrible 2 that she has read or heard about... She was pleased that I showed concern and love for my little brother... She was pleased that I was co-operative most of the times... She was pleased that I have been showing that I have learnt well from the guidance and teachings..

BUT lately...

I started beating Little Ayden...
I will beat his head...
I refused to walk in to my school...
even if mummy were to try to carry me...I refused too...
I dont want to eat... ...
I misbehaved... ...

Mummy was thinking if it could all be due to the absence of my pacifier??
As I have now gone pacifier free!! And it actually wasn't too tough to kick it!

Being a mother of TWO kids by age 28 has always been one of my "objectives" in life.
However, I had wanted 1 boy, 1 girl and if I were to have number 3, any gender would just be fine. So now, with 2 boys... I guess if I were ever to try for number 3....the chances of another boy will be very high...so i better prepare another AXXXX name by then. :D
Still, it is a dream to have a girl....Leann Leann when can I have Leann?

Having read Auntie Tricia's blog on Approaching Mother's Day earlier really reminded me to blog about it too... ...

Eversince becoming a Mother, time has been greatly devoted to the children... ...lesser time for myself as an individual, lesser time for us as a couple. But having the children around is a different kind of fun and happiness too. (Of course, not forgetting the frustrations too...) ;p

Everything else has to take further steps backwards as priorities are all now on the children.
Everything else has to be planned around them...hoping to give them the best I can, working around other solutions to still be able to work and yet take care of them... ...

having TWO is really alot of difference to ONE.
Time is spent either on Asher or Ayden.
No time to even blog...and I only can save drafts with header to keep the memory there...and do it only when I can. The only "free" time I have is when both of them are asleep at the same time during their nap or middle of the night.

As we settle into this new place...as I build and establish a good routine and practice...as I train the new helper(WHO IS LIKE A LOST SOUL AT TIMES) ...hopefully things will work out well and smooth in no time.

I slept overnight without my diaper and NO accident!!!

On Friday 11th Jun night ...
Mummy decided to let me try sleeping without diapers again...this is the 2nd attempt.

1st attempt was earlier the month... it was not planned for but happened simply out of daddy's pure laziness as I was sleeping with him on the bed and he did not put on diapers for me...and I pee...in the middle of the night on the bed...

so 2nd attempt, mummy let me sleep on the mattress on the floor... ...
without high expectations...she checked a few times through the night till morning when i woke up...mummy was very very pleased to find NO ACCIDENT!!! Asher is a big boy le!!!

Nowadays I seldom wear diapers anymore, only when I go to bed at night and when i go to school. Eventhough I know how to say when I want to pee/poo and I will ask to go...but still Mummy thinks we need more practice as we are hardly outdoors..so she is worried I might not do it well with a different environment or person.

Last night (12th Saturday night...)
We had family dinner with Jodi, Jaeden, Tiffany and Trevor, my grandparents and so on...
After the dinner we went Ikea...I had great fun with my cousins...soOoooO much fun that i forgot I wasn't wearing diapers and I had a pee accident at Ikea... heheheh...see that is what happens when I am overly excited.

When we were having dinner, I still ask Gong Gong to bring me go pee... ...Still need more practice!

I can say out my pee/poo urge since a week ago!

Adults listen!
You can introduce potty training to your babies young... but they pick up so fast when they are ready for it... ...

When I was much younger around 18 months old, Mummy tried to potty train me but not quite successful; One, it was tough to be consistent as she wasn't my only carer and it was tough to ensure the same routine practice. Two, I was probably not as ready compared to now too...

Recently after we shifted here, ( I was about 27months old plus) we started again.
No diapers during the day, many times even bare butt...no shorts for me...
Now I am able to say out my pee & poo urge since 1 week ago.
SO that is as good as saying, I completed the whole cycle from:

Mummy reminding me to go pee/poo in the potty
to
I running to the potty on my own to pee/poo
to
I being able to tell the adults I want to pee/poo...
all in just barely 2 weeks!

I can also recognise some of our names...

So far, I generally go to the potty to pee only upon Mummy's reminder... ...

But today, I ran to the potty to pee on my own initiative!! I am beginning to recognise the urge and can learn to control my urge to pee....

Mummy saw me run run run to the potty direction and ran after me...she wanted to catch me in action when I rush there to pee... those times, I am not wearing any bottom at all... ;p *shy shy*

Imagine me in my singlet, no bottoms, but wearing my boots and run run run to my potty....it's an amusing sight Mummy wants to remember for as long as she can...so she can make fun of me when I am older.... :D

Progressing into my 28th month, Mummy has been consistently trying o get me to pee & poo in the potty...so I am literally diaper free during the day and only wear diapers when I go to bed. Back in Qtown, she wasn't really able to enforce this habit for me.

And I am also much more ready for it of recent... Mummy finds it very amusing that whenever I want to poo, I will hide at a place or ask the adults to go away.... ...do all toddlers behave like the way I do?

On 21st May 2010, I poo in the potty on my own initiative and when I am done, I even called mummy to come and take a look! That pleased her and surprised her so much. She was so happy! :) Efforts to teach me really paid off!

Once, I even carried the potty to show mummy I poo-ed in the potty... hahaha....mummy was shocked & happy but worried I will topple the potty...

Another time, I refused to sit in the potty to poo and while standing.... my poo dropped off onto the floor when Iwalked 2 steps away from the potty...that was a funny sight too...hheheheh Mummy went...yeee yeee...

27 months old today!

We haven't been updating the blogs...
I am now 27th month old = 2 years 5 months old.

Our 1st maid, employed on 30th April to come to our new place with us hasn't been "impressive" and leaves mummy very worried most of the times. For the time being, Waipo has been staying with us for 2 weeks to help care for us while Mummy is out...but this is not a long term solution.

Mummy is still not convinced to leave Baby Ayden in the hands of this helper..Auntie Cora....perhaps she needs more time....afterall it's just 2 weeks+... At 27 months old, I still need my pacifier to go to bed...mummy is trying to help me kick this habit. Although she doesn't like it that the pacifier is the first thing I always ask for whenever I am crying sadly...i go "tu tu...tu tu...i want tu tu..", still she can't deny that it is very amusing and cute to see that.. ;p

Officially we will be moving in on 1st May 2010, as that's the last day to shift out of Q'town.
We got the keys to our new place on 16th Mar 2010.

I finally got a chance to come to the new house.
Although it is rented, it is almost everything Mummy loved to give to the family.
Nice, serene environment.
Good enough space to set up play area, learning area for us, the children.
Sufficient space for Mummy to set up Daddy & her work desk .
Mummy is looking forward to get us a playhouse, teeter totter, kitchen pretend play, set up sand and water play station for us and also my drawing & scribbling area!!
It is a place Golden & Silver can finally have lots of space to run about.

Moving to this new place would mean I will see lesser of Grandpa & Grandma... :(
but that would probably Mummy will not be so stressed out when it comes to disciplining Asher me. Sigh...

Mummy can never be a FULL TIME stay home mum.
Put $ aside, it is also because personal achievement in terms of work and career is also very important to her. When we shift to the new place, I will most probably continue to attend Bibinogs...until I get to attend YCK Kinderland which is full at the moment. When I am sent to school, the housemaid will then help to care for Ayden... ...which at this point of time is something Mummy is very very worried of.

Mummy has in the meantime placed me on the wait-list at YCK Kinderland... ...
though she is still very reluctant to put me into full day childcare, as she prefers to send me to 3 hours preschool...but 3 hours seem kind of short...
But that is the best solution so that Mummy can have time with Little Ayden too.

Mummy showed me how to blow just once and I took the harmonica and started blowing...and there the musical sound came... ...
and mummy was rather impressed that it sounded quite pleasing.. ..just like a nice rythm...

During this period of time, everybody in the house is busy with house moving... ...
Soon I will be shifting to our new place, just Daddy, Mummy, Little Ayden & I with a housemaid, Golden & Silver. How would life be like without Gong Gong and Po Po?

I have been going to my dropped-off class at Bibignogs, my playschool and coping well since day 1 and I never cry for mummy. Mummy accompanied me for a pro-rated term of Power Tots (a parent-accompanied class) which was about a month and then sent me to the dropped off class, Mighty Tots. I am a big boy now, on my own in the class with my classmates and teachers from 9am to 12pm. Sometimes I attend twice a week and mummy is considering to put me in for 3 times a week the next term. I love the teachers here, they are all nice and loving to us, little children. At 2 years 2 months old, I am one of the youngest in the Might Tots class.

Like all kids, I love Kiddy rides. There is a train, a boat and a "musical chair" outside my school and sometimes I get to take 1 or 2 rides. I like the train one as I pretend to drive the train with the steering wheel. I like the boat one as it rocks up and down like a teeter totter...erm see saw..u know? I also like the "musical chair" one as it goes round and round ...360degrees turn. I am excited by it...u should see my smile.

Mummy wants me to understand that their is this thing call MONEY and we need to use it to "exchange" for goods or services and that everything has a value to it... so often Mummy lets me slot the coin in for the kiddy rides or when we get the trolley from the supermarket and even when we buy stuffs... and I love it! :)

I am beginning to be interested in dressing up myself...
helping to pull my pants up....sometimes I don't even want to let mummy pull my pants down...
I will pull it up when mummy pulls it down...and we both repeat it over and over again while i get like "upset" and tells mummy..."no, no" ...mummy just likes to tease me.

I can sort of find the armholes of my top and put my arms through on my own and pull down my top properly... ...

sometimes mummy says it is really adorable to see me pull my pants up as I walk... ...

As much as I tell myself to blog more often about your progress, just like before...I realised I just can't seem to do it. I am sorry. I hope I will be better...

Anyway...you are now 2 years 2 months old soon...
You have been talking more...you are able to repeat after what we say, though not in full sentence, but broken up...and the teachers at Bibinogs school all seem to adore you...
the "cuteness" you displayed to them behind your "cool cool" appearance, is something that has mesmerized them deeply.

You have been singing after songs while in the car...but of course not in full sentences, generally just couple of words along... ...and I noticed you seem to remember and can say/act out in advance the the words/scenarios that will follow shortly after a particular part. Your speech is improving lots of recent...can say quite a number of words in a sentence.

NUMBERS
0 to 10 ... you had been able to recognise the numbers since sometime ago...but I don't think you know how many they actually represent...Let's work harder in this COUNTING area...hopefully you Maths area will not be too bad..

A-Z ALBHAPET/PHONICS
You are doing the full A-Z Zoophonics pronounciation and action well too...able to match the different cards and since a while back you have been able to recognise the 26 letters and can say out some words that represent the letters too. :)
Oh and I think you love the Zoo Phonics time!

FINE MOTOR SKILLS
You are starting to scribble lots, and I am trying to get you to write. :)
You can follow the directions pretty ok and write out the letters/numbers when held along by my hand...but of course I know it is still along way to go.
Your pincer-grab skills is getting better and you can manage stickers pretty much on your own these days...just that I will not know where they end up to be later. You are self-feeding yourself pretty well too. :)

SHARING & TAKING TURNS
Generally you are not a stingy boy. In fact I am happy that you seem pretty generous. You are often willing to give and share...I am most happy at your love and big heart towards your little brother Ayden (I know I have mentioned countless time!). Still, you are at the TERRIBLE TWOS age and there are always times you refused to budge too...Mummy got to know how to tackle that and sometimes it work, sometimes it does not. Well afterall, that's what TERRBILE TWOS does. ;p

POTTY TRAINING
You don't seem to like to sit on the potty...
anyway mummy's not spending as much effort as sometime ago to potty train you.
Just asking you to go pee every now and themn. You are able to pee when you say you want to. I guess you can understand the urge to wanna pee and poo but still not able to say it out on initiative unless we ask you. Well I will put you on intensive potty train once we shift into the new place. :P

Your love for cars, buses probably resulted in your love for ramp too...which you will just take anything flat, be it a book or a piece of cardboard and imagine it to be a ramp.
Sometimes, you put 2 lego blocks together, 1 long and 1 short and make it out to be a gun. :D

You like playing with all sorts of musical instruments...like tambourine, maraccas, guitar but your favorite seems to be the drum. Even if you do not have the real instruments like the guitar, you always use the broom and act as if that is your guitar... :)

GROSS MOTOR SKILLS

The least to be worried about!

You exudes the most confidence and self-belief in this area, yet seldom over-attempts beyond your ability. You jump from a flight of stairs and land super well and balanced.

Maybe I should consider sending you to Gymnastics in future. Hehe..

INTERPRETATION/UNDERSTANDING

You are getting better and better at understanding and interpreting what we say as the days goes by. You are able to follow 2, 3 stages instructions and I am happy at that. Except for your occasional tantrums when you are obviously tired, grouchy or when you are simply frustrated at not being able to convey your intentions to us. I can understand that..we both need more time.

Of recent, we haven't been reading much like before...or rather eversince Little Ayden came along or even earlier during my late stage of pregnancy...
Instead you watch Doraemon so much, it has become your best friend.
Hmm..you ditch Barney for Doraemon!
Hopefully when we shift and settle in at our new place, we can get you back to reading more often. :)

In his absence, I probably could get more things done...but I miss him badly.
Eventhough it is only a short few days trip...I just can't help but miss my Baby Asher.

I was told, Asher missed me when he was at the Kelong too...
He will call out for mummy..."Mummy..mummy.." BUT he knows I am not there with him.
BECAUSE...he will answer himself..."why?"... ... :D Hahahaha...

I guess it is because whenever he call out for me at home, generally the first world I utter is ... "Why?"... ...

Search for my preschool brings us to Kinderland Yio Chu Kang... ...
Since we are shifting, mummy will no longer enrol me at Maris Stella at Holland in 2012 as originally planned. Anyway, Maris Stella doesn't take in Pre-Nursery, that's one drawback...which I cannot commence school in 2011..and it is too far now that we are shifting...

Now we are down to Kinderland at Yio Chu Kang set to commence in 2011 as I turn 3.
At the same time, if necessary, DiDi Ayden can join me at Kinderland YCK later stage.
Many considerations when it comes to pre-school selection for the children... ...

(1) Curriculum & Teachers - Our learning and whether we enjoy largely dependent
(2) Premises and Environment - Exposure to us, the kids

(3) Location to be near to home - so that we do not have to travel too far and too tiring for us

(4) Availability!!! - Becos' so often and common to be on waiting list!
(5) Enrichment programs asfter class avail in future if necessary, to avoid travelling too much

Anyway... ... I enjoyed my 2 visits to Kinderland YCK... ...

On a daily basis, mummy tries to ensure I spend some time scribbling/drawing with crayons on paper, some outdoor activity time, some storybook time, some toys exploring time, some play and pretend time, some family bonding time, some dvd time(not too much hopefully)....yet still has lots of time which she doesn't know what else to do with me... :)

Maybe when i start going to school more often or daily...it will be better??

My little brother had been pretty cooperative...he laid quietly beside mummy and waipo, most of the time throughout the dinner... ...whereas I was kept entertained by my toy cars and trains...and my 2 cousins!!

After the dinner, we spent some time at the New IR at Sentosa...just walking around...it wasn't even officially opened yet!

I started playgroup sessions this month!

I began attending 1.5 hour parent accompanied playgroup since 3rd Feb.
I go to class every Wed and Fri morning at Serene Centre, Bibinogs.
I really enjoy my class... ...it is a bilingual class...with half an hour focus on Mandarin.
There are usually a total of about 6 to 8 toddlers in our class.
Some of them attends twice a week like me, some just once a week.

Mummy wants to introduce me to understand & experience what is it like in a "class" environment.

3rd February-Wednesday FIRST SESSION

refuse to enter the classroom..

still not certain if i should go in..

Mandarin teacher trying to make me feel good..

we usually have some toys free play time wihle waiting for all to arrive..

when time's up, teacher will sing us a "pack up" song..
we will all keep the toys together.

I was sad when the Mandarin teacher had to go...

But soon when the "Zoo-Magician", the English teacher
came in...I tried to settle down...

I watched as some "magic" unfolds...

we had to match the letter cards given to us
with the big ones on the wall...

Then it is "writing" time

after which, we have snack together...

enjoying my biscuits...

I eat on my own...

then it is BUBBLES time!

5th February Friday - Session 2

I was still abit aprehensive about entering the classroom...but still I went in...

All was fine..except once in a while, I will try to turn the knob of the door to get out of the room...but in vain.

Mummy was pleasantly surprised when I willingly put on this "bib" at Craft Time...
We are going to do some painting!!

I have upgraded to take the front seat most of the time nowadays, since the car seat is now for Little Ayden... ...yet to get me a 5 point harness booster seat...mummy's still considering...

I have been pretty cooperative when seated int he front of the car...

Mummy will keep me entertained with my toy steering wheel and my requested music CD, sometimes a book...and I will cooperate not to move around...

But sometimes I refused to get out of the car even when we reached home...

this few days i am back to being cranky again...

mummy suspects it is because of my molar toothing again...

had a slight fever back on monday... ...

am refusing food at mealtime, drooling and chewing off my bottle teats and the pacifier to the corner of my mouth... ...

hopefully soon it will be over... ...

and I am going for my first playgroup (parent-accompanied) session today!!
mummy is pretty excited about it... ...
wonder if I will refuse to enter the room??

The Toughest Job on Earth!

Being a Daughter-In-Law who is also a Mother at the same time... ...

Why?

Because, usually the man (husband) cannot be bothered to care much...
and everything else is left to the wife...the kids, the household, the future, the plannings etc...

Today I share with my hubby that I don't really fancy Asher watching cartoons like Doraemon at this age. Not too much at least. Not like repeating the disc over and over again...
What can he possibily learn from Doraemon? No doubt, it can be entertaining, but to be watching the same disc over and over and over again is really too much...
Hubby says:" Do something about it then. Too much of complaining from you doesnt do anything too..."

I am pissed. "too much of COMPLAINING??????????!!!!!!!!"
I am just telling him what I think and NOT complaining.
What can I do anyway?
I do not even know where I stand now.
I do not even dare to be firm on what I want for my kids now.
Because, I will be deemed at COMPLAINING!
No wonder my FIL thinks I complain. COS' my hubby now makes the same comment too.

What is wrong with just wanting to teach my kids the way I think it should be?
Many things I already do not interfere...and learn to close ONE EYE, sometimes TWO.
Becos' I believe they do too...sometimes closing both eyes. SO it is important to compromise.
BUT WHY IS IT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND??!!
Saying in direct and tactfully, still people say you calculative and so on...
Being nice and try not to think too much of it...people say you hypocrite...

Being a DIL, why can't I just behave like a man who is a son-in-law to my family...
not to be bothered and don't have to care what my family thinks of him?
Why being a DIL, I have to care for my hubby's family like my own and yet end up in this way?

I ask myself...
I tried my best to be a wife to my hubby...
to play a supportive role to him be it in his work or family...
I cook for him whenever I could...
I make tea for him when he comes home...
I take care of his household etc...
DID MY HUBBY TAKE CARE OF MY FAMILY like I TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY???
Perhaps no...but i never complain.

I ask myself...
I tried my best to be a dutiful and respectful DIL...
helping in whatever ways I can...be it caring for the folks, helping with household bills and at least some chores, plans for them etc...

I ask myself...
I tried to be a mummy as much as I can...
reading up, learning and being hands on as much as I can and yet still remember to make time for the folks to have the grandson in their hands and company...because I know they dote and love him too.

Despite the fact that I have my own career, work and family like my mum and siblings to care for too...

But sorry, you will never be appreciated.
Because you are just a DIL. I never use to think this way.
I need to change.
Maybe it is my problem. It should be.

Everybody says I have become very obedient nowadays...
They wonder if it has got anything to do with the arrival of my little brother Ayden...

Changing diapers and clothes for me is no longer as challenging as before...i will position nicely to get changed most of the time these days rather than running around...

When mummy says it is bed time or bath time, I will follow or if I am not ready yet, mummy will give me a time frame of 10 mins or so to get ready and I usually will say OK...and then follow when time's up... :) Mummy is super pleased with this...

When Ayden cried earlier today, other than patting him, i even brought my bolster and Ayden's milk milk to Ayden...

My recent progress...

I am such a big boy...mummy often comment.
She feels it seem like a am so mature now...though I have yet to hit 2 years old.
Especially at times when I wake up from my nap/sleep, instead of crying, I will stand or sit or even squat there in the room for a while, before I walk out of the room myself in a very cool manner. Sometimes I even walk out and say "Hi".

I can say alot more words now and usually I can pick them up almost immediately except that my pronounciation is not so accurate.

Mummy recently taught me to say "Ai Ni" and "I Love You".
There are also quite a number of words that I uttered out on my own so accurately that kind of startled and impressed mummy. So babies really do learn and will say out on their on much later when they are ready. So talk to us more when we are young...dont think that we dont know or dont understand...one day when we say out the words, XIA SI NI ah!!! :D

I have grown too. Now I am about 87 to 88cm in height and weighs 12.3kg.
And of recent, I will say "wet wet" to tell mummy my diaper is getting too heavy and too wet.
My poo signals are getting pretty obvious too...sometimes I even say "poo poo" on my own.
But I have yet to be diaper free lah...mummy is not too much in a hurry to get me off the diapers...

Most of the letters in A to Z, I can recognise and relate to a particular word that represents it...like "K" for "Kite", "A" for "Asher", "D" for "Daddy", "M" for "Mummy", "C" for "Car" etc...
I can also recognise the numbers 1 to 9... ...
except for ZERO "0"....i still think it is an "O" as in the letter "O"...
Mummy is now trying to introduce 10 to 19 to me... though very slowly...

Although I am not reading my storybooks as often and regular as before, I am still able to relate to the stories everytime mummy reads to me. These days we also do alot more on "picture reading"...mummy will show me pictures and ask me to find the things in the picture and say some discriptions to me.

Language and conversation, interpretation, understanding and expression wise...mummy thinks I am developing pretty ok. I can understand "2-stage" instructions le...

Mummy has the least worries, in fact NO worries at all for my gross motor skills development. Jumping, climbing, walking, hopping...I probably score 110 over 100...heheheh simply because I am sometimes TOO "able" le...i climb with no fear. (Mummy's only worry in this aspect is I will be too active to handle in future.)

As for my fine motor skills, should be ok too. I have been able to drink soup from a bowl on my own, drink water, juice from a cup, eat on my own using a spoon and bowl... ...pick up tiny things using my two fingers...

Social skills etc...hmmm I am still learning...
learning to share and take turns... sometimes i can do it, sometimes i can't.
But I will try.
