My Latest Development...

Nowadays I have my regular TUMMY time...thats when mummy will let me lie on my tummy and I will have to try to raise my head...

It is said that sleeping on the tummy seems to make a baby sleep longer and tend to feel more secure other than training a stronger neck...wonder how true it is??

I am raising my head...

This is my new BEAN SPROUT PILLOW from Godma Sann...I like the pillow and slept soundly with it...but Mummy lah...dropped something on the floor and woke me from my sleep...so I cried loh...scared mah

Then naughty mummy somemore filmed me crying.... hehe

These days Mummy & Daddy finds me more fun to play with le...cos' I start having more reponse via cooing(sounds) and I give more smileys too...my expression changes within a split second...so mummy tried to take a few pictures of me...hoping to catch my smile, while Daddy uses one of my toy to cheer me...

We had no time to blog much past few days...

Mummy went back to work on Fri and Sat...so wai po came over to help look after me...alot of preparation work...since mummy will not be around to feed me, she got to prepare the right amount of milk milk for me in the feeding bottles to standby for Wai po to feed me and also tell her the timings roughly...so in order not to let me feed too many times from the bottle, mummy always ensure she give me a feed before she goes off for work...before that still got to bathe me leh...

Then of cos when Wai Po is here...she dunno how to switch on the PC for me to blog, so no blogging when mummy is not around loh... ;p

Anyway...

Thursday 230308 nite...

Daddy & Mummy brought me to Sakae Sushi at Compasspoint...before we left home, Mummy prepared a bottle of milk for me about 100ml...but think she did not close tight..so about 20ml leaked in the insulation bag...so I was left with around 80ml of milk only...

Daddy told mummy its ok...just let me have some milk to drink to hold my hunger...BUT Daddy don't know....(Mummy gave him a cheeky grin) ... Baby Asher knows the difference between 80 mls and 100 mls hor...short of 20 mls also cannot one...I will be fussy about it...

So true enough, I was fussing and Mummy told Daddy..."Now you know hor..." ;p

Daddy tried to "cheat" me with water due to the 20mls milk shortage...but

U THINK I STUPID HAR... I am Mummy Lindy's SON leh...

When we were at home earlier on...Daddy told Mummy, "Baby Asher really funny leh...one second crying, next second so cool..."

Daddy...aiyoh, all babies are like that one leh..we flip between smiling and crying faster than you can pop a pacifier in our mouths...hehehe

That's me in 2 different seconds....

Time Flies...

Hi Baby, it is Mummy blogging again...

Baby Asher has grown taller and bigger...measuring 61CM and weighing 4.875kg...almost 5kg very soon. He has already upgraded to S Size diapers and no longer fits well in the Newborn size.

And Asher you are a tall baby...Dr. Tan said you are in the 97th percentile, meaning out of every 100 babies, only 3 are taller than you...will you be even taller than Daddy Alvin? Don't grow too tall until you can't get girlfriend next time woh... ;p

Anyway, time really flies...Baby Asher, you are going to be 6 weeks old very soon...and it was just like yesterday when I discovered I had you, went thru the 10 months pregnancy with you and finally delivered you to this world on the very day when I finally experienced childbirth...the "scary process" almost every woman depicts.

Your cries made me upset initally when I didnt know what you want and what more I can do, after feeding you, changing your diaper and comforting you...but after some days of getting familiar with you, now...be it your hunger cries or your fussy cries...they don't really upset me anymore. In fact sometimes your cries only makes me laugh at you... :) and your occasional smiles are forever so encouraging. Hearing you make some funny noises, seeing you start learning to lift your head a little and turning and all your changes day by day, makes it even more encouraging to undertake this life-long learning journey with you...my dear Baby Asher.

Seeing how Daddy tries to learn to take care of you makes Mummy happy too... :)
That shows we are working towards the same direction to make a happy family for all of us! :)

So, if we are slow in anyway to understand what you want, please be patient and bear with us, Baby Asher...cos we are also learning, just like how you are learning to cope with this overwhelming world.

My first TUMMY TIME!!

24th March 2008 Monday - My first TUMMY time...

This lovely mat is from Auntie Shiling and Auntie Judy..Mummy's ex-colleagues...Thank you!

Alot of nice little surprises from the mat...so interactive...but now I still got to rely on Mummy to take my little hand and feet to explore them one by one...the different textures, the different sounds it creates from the touch of it...



Since then, everyday I will have some tummy time with this mat...and also Baby Bwright time...which is a VCD that Mummy will play for me...Other than that, I have my own independent time resting by the cosy corner, laying on my crib and admire the scenery outside, listening to music...

With Mummy carrying me in her arms, we have some dancing time with some cheerful or hip music daily. Mummy will also read me some stories, although not a daily affair yet.

Then when I am feeding, its the time when Mummy will read up on books to understand more about my growth and what to expect in the days come by...

Stimulation for baby's mental growth is extremely important during our intial year...as our brain development takes place...

When its my bedtime, Mummy will sing nursery rhymes to me...

I am really a blessed and fortunate, Happy Baby Asher.

23032008 Sun - Mummy returned to work for showroom duty...

Mummy decided to return to work for the first day last Sunday and I was reluctant to let mummy go...

Mummy, don't go pls...

BUT I know I have to be independent and cannot rely on Mummy to be around for me always...and Mummy knows I will be fine with Wai Po around...

Asher had been a good good boy when Mummy's not around...

Past few days...

No blog for the past few days becos we were busy! Mummy busy, so was baby Asher...Busy shopping for Baby Asher's carseat..we went to Kaki Bukit, Baby Fair at Expo, Suntec City & Marina Square...

Friday was kind of like the first time we go out together shopping!!

Still no car seat for Baby Asher.... :(

Then Saturday night we finally got it at Takashimaya Baby Fair...we ended up with a Britax Royale in "Blue Scribbles" which is blue lah... I've got my own car seat le!!! :)

20th March 2008 - Mummy & Baby Asher's Gynae

Finally got a chance to take a picture with our gynae..Dr. Caroline Khi. She gave mummy wonderful stitches that recovered nice and fast and assisted mummy to deliver Baby Asher(me lah) safely to the world. Mummy always say she has been a friendly, gentle and nice gynae, who has been very encouraging to whatever Mummy decides to try or do throughout the pregnancy and birth of Baby Asher... be it no confinement lady. no epidural, breastfeeding and so on...

Dr. Khi also gives sound advice in advance...recommending Mummy books to read, which breastpump is value for money etc... Thank you Dr. Khi!

Today when we went back to see Dr. Khi for Mummy's check up, Dr. Khi said I was a solid baby...hehe...Mummy feeding me well ba... :)

My First Good Deed to Others
When we first arrived, Mummy registered and then brought me to the nursing room to feed me...I was first baby to go in, so we had the whole room to ourselves...then Baby 2 who is only 3 days old arrived and as usual the Mummies chatted...then BB2 left..by then Bb3 came in and I am still feeding...thats about half hour le...(still not enough mah, I am big baby le leh), then Bb4 was queuing outside waiting to come in to feed as the room can only accommodate 2 at each time...another 10 mins pass, I am still feeding happily woh...by now Bb4 was crying fiercely le...so Mummy decided I should give up my seat to BB4, since I had been feeding for a while le..should be able to last for a while lah...plus Bb4 so poor thing...so thats probably the FIRST good deed Baby Asher has done for others in my life!! I am happy!

Time really flies, from the first time Mummy visited Dr. Khi together with Godma Sann, to verify my presence (her pregnancy lah), till my birth and now I am 5 weeks old le!!!

Still remembered Mummy was very sceptical about my presence...

thinking it must have been a mistake eventhough I had heartbeat le woh...

hahaha

Then she decided to surprise Daddy with "Me" as Daddy's birthday present!!

Mummy first tested positive on the pregnancy kit on 29th June 07...then waited till 3rd July 07 to see Dr. Khi, then waited till 070707 (Daddy's BD) to surprise Daddy!! Naughty Daddy still ask mummy to do this, do that before he knew I was in Mummy!! But I am tough Baby and Mummy is tough Mummy too!! :)

The REST is history le loh...

I am changing...

Everyday I am changing...Mummy takes shots of me to capture my changes and growth...

Handling a growing baby like me requires lots of patience and when it comes to breastfeeding, lots of determination and faith. Its tiring cos' I need to be fed very regularly every now and then...sometimes Mummy is upset cos' I am unpredictable at times...just like 2 nights ago...

Mummy was already very very tired as she didnt get to sleep from whole of saturday all the way until sunday night...and for 1 of the feeds, I actually wouldn't stop feeding from 930pm till 1130pm...a whole 2 hours!! For a long time, Mummy hadn't been upset with me or rather with my unpredictable behavior...but that night, she was really upset ...cos of Mummy's mummy(wai po), daddy(quite innocently involved but couldn't be helped) and me loh...

So many thoughts on Mummy's mind... when it comes to mummy's mummy, she is always so so helpless..sigh..anyway now that I have officially turned one month old, baby shower over & done with, coming week will be the week when I have to go for my jabs...so many jab jab woh...no worries mummy, I will be a brave boy! Baby Asher is your rugged, tough baby!!

15th March 2008 Sat - My 2nd Baby Shower Session

I officially turned 1 month old!!! This session is held at Daddy's parents' place at Queenstown. Daddy has a lot of relatives...but all the folks not too keen to takes photos...so not much to show.

I was being carried around by tonnes of people...
Mummy said this 3 days of Baby shower is showcase day for me...so I have to get used to being carried by many different people...

Mummy stayed till 6AM in the morning becos' of...hmm...Mummy say don't say woh...cos' this is Asher's Happy Blog... :) so ZIPPED. no mention of what is already over!!
